7 APGA members die in imo auto crash

The Imo State chapter of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) yesterday lost seven of its members in an auto crash, while others are said to be in critical condition.


Daily Sun gathered that the late party members alongside 16 members from Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of the state were on their way to Owerri to attend a party rally when a Mercedes truck coming from the Owerri end of the Owerri-Mbaise Road rammed into the L 300 Mitsubishi bus in which they were travelling in.
The state Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC), Yusuf Salami, who confirmed the incident disclosed that the victims died on the spot while 13 other passengers of the bus sustained serious injuries.
According to Salami, they were said to be en-route to Owerri while the Mercedes Benz truck also coming from Owerri veered off its lane while trying to over take another vehicle before it rammed into the bus.
Meanwhile, the sector commander has warned motorists against over speeding and dangerous driving especially now that the Yuletide is here. Daily sun.
